This web site provides powerful financial insights and market timing trading signals for the active investor who becomes a member. Timing signals are based on proprietary, investor metrics (hence the term Invetrics™.) Our team uses on an ongoing basis a variety of metrics that provide invaluable insights regarding what is really going on currently in the stock market and how to profit from it.
We track the stock market as a whole and selected sectors within (represented by major index / sector ETFs), as well as selected individual stocks. We use the Invetrics™ timing signals to determine how to time the trades to profit from market moves. Our primary focus is the US stock market action, although we also track selected ETFs for international stock markets, as well as select currencies, commodities and bonds, given many of them are interconnected and influence one another.
The Invetrics™ system is a software implementation of algorithms utilizing the above mentioned proprietary investor metrics to determine the current market direction at multiple levels (market index vs. sector vs. individual stock) and time frames (hourly, daily, weekly, etc.) This provides specific insights for how to profit from such action.
The system is based on technical analysis of a security’s trading pattern and attempts to capture a good portion of a move in its price by keeping us invested when the move is favorable, while keeping us out during periods of adverse price action. The system is continuously evolving through tweaking intended to further optimize its performance.
We used the Invetrics™ system to determine when to buy and sell selected securities during the simulated CNBC Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge conducted within the 10 weeks of 11/17/08 to 1/23/09. The system achieved an 81.5% return during that time, placing it at the top 1% of contestants.
It accomplished this through switching between long and short positions. Some of the positions were in stocks while others were in 2x leveraged ProShares ETFs. Although past results in no way guarantee nor predict future performance, especially in adverse market conditions such as those experienced currently, this is a very encouraging reference point. Bear in mind that the S&P 500 had a -4.7% return during the same period. See the three charts in this post for how the major indices behaved during that time.
Is Invetrics™ for Me?
If you are an active investor with a broker account or other investment vehicle, and you are actively trading or switching between positions (e.g., switching between long and short an index ETF, or from an S&P 500 mutual fund to Cash and vice versa) then this web site is for you. The same is true if you are just interested in following the market and get a second opinion or an alternate view point to what you and your investment advisor do.
Our web site is especially suited for active investors who prefer to read our posts when they get up in the morning (or late in the previous evening), place their trades in advance of market open, check for any last minute updates just prior to market open, and then go on with their lives for the rest of the day. We purposely do not provide market timing signals intraday, in order to allow time for the trades to bring profit, and for you to focus on your daily job.
This is a significant differentiator of our web site when compared to other sites with market timing alerts. We offer a FREE membership level, and even very low cost trials for paid membership levels, so that you follow our postings for a while and you can determine for yourself if it is worth pursuing it.
How do I Access Invetrics™ Insights?
Our team uses this site as a forum to share Invetrics™ insights and market timing signals with members of our investor community. Some of the content is available free of charge to “Bronze” level members (no credit card required; just registration with a name and email address.) Such content includes daily market overview, as well as trading signals for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA.) You are welcome to bookmark our site, tell your co-workers and friends about it, and come back and visit often.
Selected content of this web site is available to paid subscribers only. Such content provides Invetrics™ system insights with market commentary, and daily trading signals (if any for that day) in the form of trades to be executed during regular trading hours. This paid content takes advantage of the primary Invetrics™ system strength, which is its ability to provide timely signals allowing investors to enter and exit positions in a security, or switch between cash, long, and short ETFs associated with a market index.
There are two levels of paid membership: “Silver” and “Gold”. Both allow for a very low cost trial. Visit the Membership page for additional information on what these levels include and to subscribe at the desired membership level.
Daily posts with Invetrics™ timing signals are available every morning the US stock markets are open, by 5 am US Central Time. Once logged in, web site members may subscribe to our RSS feeds and start receiving content posted directly in their browser or RSS reader. Sometimes, such daily posts are published the prior evening. However, in case market conditions have changed significantly by the next morning, paid members should always log in to the web site and check for any last minute updates prior to market open, especially given several RSS readers are not capable of reflecting such updates in previously downloaded posts.
How is Invetrics™ Performance Determined?
Invetrics™ trading signals are communicated to our members as trades, and they are typically posted by 5 am US Central Time, i.e., in advance of the regular market session open time, on any given day that the US stock markets are open. In fact, many times they are posted the prior evening, although in that case there may be last minute updates just prior to market open if there is a significant change in market conditions overnight. If for some reason we are unable to post our signals in advance of regular market session open time (e.g., due to technical difficulties or other reasons beyond our control), no new trading signals or trades will be posted for that day, and the existing signals and trades will remain in effect.
For performance tracking purposes, Invetrics™ trades for a given security are considered executed during the regular market session at the Limit price specified. The trade is executed only if and when the Limit price is hit. When applicable, there is a protective Stop Limit price associated with a trade at the time of opening a position. If the Stop Limit price is reached during a regular market session prior to a signal to close the open position, the Stop Limit price is considered as having closed the position. This is consistent with how orders are executed in trading accounts.
Limit or Stop Limit prices may be hit during regular market sessions only (i.e., pre/post market session orders are not applicable for performance tracking purposes.) Limit or Stop Limit prices are likely to be updated as part of a subsequent day’s timing signal updates to reflect the latest price action (e.g., raise a Stop Limit price), but only if the Limit or Stop Limit price was not already hit during a regular market session that the signal was in effect. Members should always check the latest trading signals posted to obtain and use such updates as applicable.
There are four simulated sets of trading signals that we use purely for performance tracking purposes of the Invetrics™ timing signals, and not as the recommended structure of your own portfolio, given your circumstances and risk tolerance is not known to our system: two for Silver members and two additional (i.e., a total of four) for Gold members.
Each reflects the performance of a related set of Invetrics™ timing signals executed. Each round trip set of trades is assumed to cost $25 to cover the cost of the trades involved in implementing the signal and any fees associated with them. Each signal for a trade opening a new position specifies the Buy/Sell Limit prices and when applicable, a Stop Limit price. We include this information in our posts to our members prior to market open and therefore prior to trade execution.
Also, see these links for stock and ETF timing signals available to Silver and Gold members, in addition to the above mentioned four sets of simulated trades.
Publishing the trading signals as trades in advance of being able to implement them, allows our members to select those they like to use and approximate their performance, but always in consultation with their own investment advisor regarding the best trades to execute and the best limit prices to use suitable for their own investments.
How Broad is the Invetrics™ Domain?
We keep it as simple as possible, by focusing on trading a small number of stocks and ETFs associated with major indices and sectors, rather than a large number of stocks that may cause an investor to lose focus. However, we do have the ability to use Invetrics™ for any ETF or stock trading in US Exchanges, as it is agnostic of the security or time frame selected to track. Our Invetrics™ system and our team are completely independent and any insights shared in this web site are not directed by any other organization who may have an interest in promoting any security.
We hope you find our posts easy to digest and that in consultation with your investment advisor you take the actions appropriate to your circumstances to increase your wealth. We attempt to provide you useful information in a concise manner. This saves you time. We avoid writing verbose articles or commentary. We know there are plenty of places on the web you may find such items to compliment your research.
The Invetrics™ system is proprietary, but the information extracted by using the system is available to members of this web site. You may register to access the web site content.
